How does it work?

  • Select and install the pivot that best matches your level.

  • Step on the disc with the ball of your foot centered over the pivot point. Keep the heel on the ground.

  • Maintain balance on that leg while raising the other leg. Keep the second leg close to the floor, tapping the floor as needed to maintain balance.

  • Try to balance for 30 to 60 seconds with each foot.

Disc

Pivodisc is a multidirectional, unstable circular platform for single leg balancing exercises.

  • Also try placing the heel centrally over the pivot point and with the ball on of the foot on the floor, repeat the balancing exercise.

  • Increase the challenge by placing the foot off-center to favour one side of the foot muscles over the other

Why Pivodisc?

Balance for Lifelong Health

With a quarter of the body’s bones and 29 muscles in each foot, our body is heavily invested in keeping us upright and mobile. Maintaining strong, stable feet is fundamental to balance, mobility, and ultimately, long-term health and longevity.

As we age, we naturally lose foot strength and proprioception—the body’s sense of position and movement. This decline increases the risk of instability and falls, which remain one of the leading causes of injury and mortality in adults over 65.

Balance exercises play a vital role in maintaining confidence and security on our feet. For clients who are already comfortable balancing on one leg, Pivodisc introduces an extra degree of controlled instability that activates the intrinsic foot muscles as well as the broader postural stability system.

By isolating the forefoot from the hindfoot, Pivodisc amplifies the neuromuscular engagement required to maintain balance. Users can stabilize either the heel or the ball of the foot while the other end responds dynamically to the subtle, shifting challenge presented by Pivodisc.
